This site will give up to date information about developments in the wine industry in the UK.

“New-wine” is a generic name and it receives a number of “hits” from searchers who are looking for information about types and vintages of wine available in the UK.

How do you define a new wine? 
In trade terms this has 3 possible meanings:

1. A wine that has newly arrived on the market. Little may be known about the wine and we plan to develop a section of our web site to gather information about new products and to link to producers, wholesalers and retailers. We are looking for contacts with all groups within the wine trade to produce as wide a range of information as possible.
2. A wine that is of a very recent vintage. Each year wine producers from all over the world produce new vintages. We intend to retrieve details of new vintages and act as a portal site for them
3. A wine that has come from a “New World” country. In this category we will list details of wines that come from the full range of countries that come under this banner –New Zealand, Australia, Chile, etc.

In order to compile a meaningful web site on new wines we require input and comment from all areas of the wine trade. We do not intend the site to be aimed specifically at those involved in viniculture; we wish it to engage widely, embracing those who produce, package, market and sell wines.

Above all the site is intended to help the enthusiastic wine drinker in choosing wisely and having a good range of prices.

A wine forum is planned where bon viveurs and wine aficionados can share their wine experiences. We hope to be able to set up wine tasting experiences in the future and wine tours are planned. A special section is planned for all new wines marketed online.

We appeal to wine producers, vintners and all those who imbibe happily and tastefully to contact us as the site progresses so that we can incorporate a really useful new wine web site that will be of use to many.

Because the name “new-wine” is a prime generic one and receives many visits from web searchers we may consider entering into partnership with experts within the wine industry. Expertise and informed comment is welcome.
